Timing matters.

Timing matters.
Don't leave it until the expiry date. If you're unsure of what you need to do, contact us early and we'll help you to get it sorted.

  • You are responsible for complying with the Defect Notice.
  • This may include repair, inspection and formal defect-clearance requirements.
  • The notice specifies the relevant timeframe and authority/process for clearance. These requirements must be followed.
  • Where the defect affects registration or continued operation, the issue should be escalated promptly to the appropriate operational contact and Isuzu Financial Services as required.

Where your GoLease includes Registration renewal services and you receive any notice directly, please contact us.

  • Lost or stolen number plates
  • Change of registration category
  • Interstate vehicle transfer
  • Transfer of ownership or other registration detail changes

Please direct these enquiries to Isuzu Financial Services Customer Support so the correct process can be confirmed.

Inspection process and requirements.

Below, you'll find a guide to inspections that covers all stages of the process, including what to do if your truck fails the inspection.

Registration renewal - no inspection required
  • Where Isuzu Financial Services is responsible for registration and CTP under the GoLease, Isuzu Financial Services will manage the renewal process.
  • You must still respond to any information or action requested by Isuzu Financial Services before the due date.
  • Once renewed, Isuzu Financial Services should provide confirmation of the new registration expiry date.
Inspection required before renewal
  • Some states require a mandatory inspection before registration can be renewed. This does not apply in every state or in every circumstance, and concessions/accreditation may affect the requirement.
  • Book as early as practical once notified. Heavy vehicle inspection capacity can be limited, and suitable appointments may not be available at short notice.
  • The inspection must be completed within the permitted pre-renewal period. Current draft guidance is no more than 90 days before expiry, with 30-60 days before expiry preferred to allow time for rectification if required.
  • Do not assume all inspection providers can perform the required inspection type. It is your responsibility to verify the correct authority and inspection type before booking.
Booking a heavy vehicle inspection
  • Confirm exactly which inspection is required and who is authorised to complete it.
  • Choose an authorised inspection location and book early.
  • Have the CRN and business name as shown on the renewal advice, vehicle registration details and your preferred location/time ready.
  • Confirm any booking fee/payment requirements.
Preparing and presenting the truck for inspection
After the inspection - passed
  • Provide the inspection certificate to Isuzu Financial Services, or provide the certificate details where a separate certificate is not issued.
  • Isuzu Financial Services can then complete the registration renewal process where it is responsible under the GoLease.
  • You should receive confirmation from Isuzu Financial Services when renewal is complete.
If the truck fails inspection
  • You are is responsible for rectifying the identified defects or failed items.
  • Repairs and any reinspection must be completed within the timeframe required by the relevant authority.
  • A failed inspection can affect the ability to renew registration on time, so rectification should be treated as a priority.
  • Provide the successful reinspection outcome to Isuzu Financial Services so renewal can proceed.
