The 2026 Isuzu Truck of the Year competition is gathering momentum, with another strong field of entrants putting their trucks in the spotlight throughout May.

The round’s entries showcase the many roles Isuzu trucks play across Australia, helping businesses grow, supporting life on the road and tackling demanding workloads day after day.

The main theme emerging from this month submissions is the reliability of the Isuzu trucks.

Fleet veterans, hardworking freight haulers, plumbers and custom motorhome owners – each truck entrant had a unique story to tell showcasing the trustworthiness of their Isuzu, and this month’s contenders certainly delivered.

May Truck of the Year – Jocks Carpet Express

Congratulations to Jocks Carpet Express from Reedy Creek QLD, this month’s Truck of the Year winner, with its dependable Isuzu FVD 170-300 forming a vital part of the business’ transport operation.

For more than three decades, Jocks Carpet Express has trusted Isuzu trucks to keep goods moving and customers serviced. With reliability critical to day-to-day operations, the business says its long-standing relationship with the brand comes down to proven performance and support.

“We find the reliability and service from Isuzu first class,” Deon Keep shared.

Jocks Carpet Express takes home the monthly merchandise prize for May and is now in the running for F Series honours later this year.

Optic Plumbing Solutions

Jere Skorin from Optic Plumbing Solutions in Concord NSW entered their sharp-looking Isuzu NPR 45-155.

With a clean, professional fit-out and strong visual presence, the truck reflects the business’ commitment to quality presentation and efficient plumbing service delivery.

“Clean looking plumbing truck,” was the fitting description from Jere.

NextGen Freight

Matt Bauer from NextGen Freight entered his Isuzu FVL 1400 that has become the backbone of a growing owner-driver operation in South Australia.

After launching the business late last year, Matt needed a truck capable of handling demanding freight tasks throughout the Adelaide Hills.

“I needed a reliable workhorse that had the power to haul heavy loads up the hills and the brakes to get them back down safely,” Matt explaind.

With more than 655,000 kilometres on the clock, the 2008 FVL has proven itself as a reliable partner in building the business from the ground up.

“My FVL might be 18 years old, but it’s the foundation of my business and the reason NextGen Freight has a future. That’s what makes it special.”

James Mitchell

Next up is James Mitchell who entered a custom 2024 Isuzu NPS 75-155 4x4 motorhome that has completely transformed life on the road for him and his partner Emily.

Built as a full-time home, office and adventure vehicle, the NPS supports a lifestyle centred around remote travel, flexible work and exploring Australia’s most spectacular locations.

From remote outback tracks to busy capital cities, the truck carries everything they own while delivering the confidence needed to tackle long-distance travel.

“What makes this truck special isn’t just its capability – it’s the confidence it gives us,” said James.

For us, this isn’t just ‘Truck of the Year’, it’s the vehicle that completely changed our lives”.

Hospo Spaces

Hamish Robertson from Hospo Spaces entered his Isuzu NQR 87-190 motorhome, highlighting the versatility of Isuzu’s truck platforms beyond traditional commercial applications.

Serving as both transport and accommodation, the NQR allows Hamish to travel comfortably around the country.

“It’s our house, keeps us secure and allows us to travel around the country at our own speed,” said Hamish.
