Truck of the Year: August 2026
There’s more than one way to make an Isuzu truck your own. You can clock up kilometres, fit it out from bumper to bumper, or point it towards a part of Australia you’ve always wanted to explore.
August’s Truck of the Year entrants have done all three, showcasing their stamp on an Isuzu.
If you’re eager for your Isuzu truck to shine in the limelight, use this link to submit your entry online. Simply upload a photo of your truck and write a few sentences about what makes it unique.
One winner each month takes home a $500 Isuzu Trucks merchandise pack and gains exposure across Isuzu’s digital platforms. Monthly winners progress to the grand final, where the N, F and FX/FY Series winners each receive a $1,500 gift card. One of the Series winners will go on to claim the 2026 Isuzu Truck of the Year title and $6,000 Grand Prize. The competition runs through to 30 November 2026.
August Truck of the Year – Great Bay Construction
Congratulations to Great Bay Construction from Hobart, Tasmania, our August winner, with an all-new MY25 NPR 45-175 Tradepack that demonstrates the owner’s care and attention.
“We basically ordered the hamburger with the lot,” said owner Shane Spaulding.
The fit-out includes large toolboxes, a three-metre under-tray drawer, a fridge, microwave, inverter power for charging tools and extra storage boxes.
From refuelling machines and greasing equipment to organising the day’s work, the truck helps Shane tackle a busy schedule with everything on hand.
A “game changer”, according to Shane, is the new suspension, which “is fantastic, both for my coffee and for my back”, he added.
Now this well-equipped NPR has something else to carry: Great Bay Developments’ hopes for N Series honours later in the year.
Fast Forward Transport
Fast Forward Transport’s two Isuzu FRR 500 have clocked up more than a million kilometres and still going…
Based in Glen Waverly, Victoria, business owner Ruban Satkunam sums up the capability of their Isuzus in a few words, “deliveries made, deadlines kept. No fuss, no drama, just honest work”.
Rescue U Plumbing Sydney
Nathan Wilson from Rescue U Plumbing Sydney entered their NLR 45-150 DT D25.
The company has two of these NLRs with a special wrap and fit-out with plenty of chrome in the mix.
This shiny set-up still has a practical job to do, as Nathan puts it, the truck “does the job a treat!”.
Halton Joinery
Hobart-based Halton Joinery’s new NQR 88-190 is helping the business to improve efficiency and protect the finished products.
Their NQR has an enclosed van body and hydraulic tail-lift to make heavy, multi-part pieces easier to load and unload.
Moving away from an open tray helps keep the joinery clean and dry, while reducing manual handling and risk for the staff.
“We want everyone to go home in the same condition they arrived at work”, said owner Adam Halton.
Easy Flo Plumbing and Gas
The NPS 75-155 entered by Blake Crossingham from Easy Flo Plumbing and Gas has an assignment many of us would happily sign up for: taking a family of four around Australia.
Built into a serious off-road touring rig and towing a 10-metre caravan, the NPS has enabled the family to explore some of the most remote and spectacular places Australia has to offer.
“It’s become our home on the road and the centre of countless family memories”, Blake said.
“What makes it special isn’t just the 4WD capability or the modifications - it’s where this truck takes us.
“It gives our kids the chance to experience Australia properly, away from the tourist trail, and lets us live a life of adventure as a family. Our NPS has become part of our family,” Blake explained.
Global Factory Maintenance
Wodonga-based Global Factory Maintenance supports critical infrastructure across the hydroelectricity, gas, manufacturing and civil sectors, often travelling into remote parts of Australia.
Their entry is the latest addition to the business, an NNR 45-150 Traypack Crew, selected for its ability to carry people, equipment and materials within one flexible package.
The different jobs Global Factory Maintenance involved means changing different loads for their NNR.
“The truck might be set up with extensive tooling and a secure canopy for a longer period on-site," said Managing Director, Gerard Telford.
"On another project, we may need the tray for steel plating, long lengths of material or fabricated components.
"The crew cab gives us the flexibility to move our people in comfort while carrying the tools and load needed for the work. That versatility is a big advantage for us," Gerard added.
Soltex
Soltex’s NPR 45-175 Tradepack is helping the team leave the loading puzzle behind.
The specialist manufacturer and installer of high-end retractable shade solutions from Perth has invested in a new NPR to improve productivity and customer service.
As General Manager Matt Harris explained, there is no longer a need to worry about “the Tetris game of getting a whole lot of stuff onto a smaller vehicle.
“Ladder racks accommodate longer products, with shorter lengths and equipment carried in the tray. It is a better fit for work that previously meant two or three ute loads, potentially with trailers as well,” he explained.
