Truck of the Year: April 2026

Welcome back to another exciting instalment of Isuzu Truck of the Year – Australia’s longest-running truck appreciation competition. 

April has seen a huge start to the competition, with an outstanding crop of hardworking Isuzu trucks showcased by businesses and owners across the country.  

From waste management and landscaping to plumbing and renewable energy, this month’s entrants prove once again that Isuzu trucks are built to tackle every challenge Australians can throw at them. 

As always, there are plenty of ways to win throughout the year. Monthly winners will receive a $500 Isuzu Trucks merchandise pack and promotional exposure across Isuzu’s digital platforms, providing valuable visibility for their business. 

Monthly winners will go on to compete for the Grand final Series ranges across the N, F and FX/FY. Series winners will receive $1,500 gift card, and one winner will also earn the title of Isuzu’s Truck of the Year and a $6,000 Grand Prize. 

The competition runs through to 30 November. Isuzu owners can enter online by submitting images and a short story outlining what makes their truck unique. 

April Truck of the Year – Wskips 

Congratulations to Wskips who’ve entered their hardworking Isuzu FSR 850 bulk carrier, which forms part of their fleet operating across Sydney.  

The truck spends its days delivering and collecting skip bins across the city, tackling rain, traffic, steep driveways and tight worksites. 

For the team at Wskips, reliability remains the standout feature. 

“We need trucks that start every morning, handle heavy workloads and keep our customers serviced without downtime,” they shared.  

“Isuzu has consistently delivered that and that’s why they’ve become the trusted brand for our fleet.” 

Wskips takes out the monthly merch prize for April and is now in the running to win the title of ‘King’ of the F Series at the end of the year.

Shane Cooke Plumbing 

Shane Cooke Plumbing entered a striking NPS 75-155 that is already turning heads wherever it goes. Their local Isuzu dealer connected them to a body builder, resulting in, “an insane” custom body, according to owner, Shane.  

“This truck will be my pride and joy to travel and work remotely around Australia.  

“Reliability is a high priority on the list,” he said.

Action Auto Electrics 

Action Auto Electrics showcased its Isuzu NLR 45-150 Servicepack, fitted-out as a fully equipped mobile workshop servicing customers across Brisbane. 

With specialised tools, diagnostic equipment and custom storage onboard, the compact platform allows technicians to access tight industrial areas and job sites while keeping everything organised and within easy reach. 

“Reliability is everything for us,” shared Anthony Monahan.  

“The NLR has been dependable, practical and perfectly suited to the work we do every day, which is why it’s such an important part of our business.”

JR Stone Lawns & Garden 

James Stonham from JR Stone Lawns & Garden entered this brand-new Isuzu NPR 45-155 Tradepack, which has already transformed the way his landscaping business operates. 

After years of towing heavy loads with a ute, James said the upgrade to an Isuzu truck has delivered greater towing capability, increased tray space and far better reliability. 

“In just four days with the NPR, I could already see the difference,” said James.  

“The reliability and towing power, paired with the generous tray space, means I can carry more gear, more green waste, and handle more complex jobs. This is already helping me streamline my routes and expand my client base.”

Barkly Earthmoving 

Barkly Earthmoving, entered by John Mora, kept things short and sweet with its entry for the rugged Isuzu FVM 1400. 

“Isuzu trucks just keep going and going,” said John. 

Sometimes, that says it all. 

Pilecom Hire 

Pilecom Hire entered its trusted Isuzu FYJ 240-300, the very first truck purchased for its fleet. 

The truck has since gone on to play a key role in building utility-scale solar farms around the country, transporting tens of thousands of solar panels across major renewable energy projects. 

According to Mark Zito, “…the FY remains one of the most reliable and user-friendly trucks in the fleet.”

Countryside Diesel 

Justin Waszczuk from Countryside Diesel has entered an Isuzu NPS 75-155 that was upgraded from a ute and trailer combination.  

The NPS’ 4x4 capability and payload ticked all the boxes”, said Jusin. 

 “I know I can hop in, turn the key and get anywhere I need to be without a worry.”

JH Group Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing 

Stephen Shailer from JH Group Window Cleaning & Pressure Washing entered his fully customised NPR 45/55-155 Tradepack, designed from the ground up to support their pressure washing operations. 

“This is the starship enterprise of pressure washing units and the flagship of the business,” said Stephen.
